Recent examples are:
- DSL was one of the first CDFIS in the UK to take a commercial loan to fund lending.
- DSL was the first CDFI in Scotland to have a Small Firms Loan Guarantee Licence (now Enterprise Finance Guarantee)
- DSL has assisted a west coast of Scotland council to look at the development of accessible personal finance mechanisms that make sense given the population and their needs
- DSL provided expert alternative finance advice in a project looking at ways of funding businesses in the light of diminishing grants
- DSL set up and developed the Women's Microcredit Project
