Our Fund Manager Sandra McLean and Investment Readiness Officer Nicola Cosgrove had a successful day at the Start-Up Summit in Edinburgh on Wednesday, hosting a stand and hearing from the First Minister Nicola Sturgeon on the launch of a £4 million innovation fund to help support entrepreneurs.
The First Minister stressed how important entrepreneurs are to Scotland’s future success, and how much the Scottish Government is committed to supporting ambitious entrepreneurs, sharing similar values with DSL and the Scottish Microfinance Fund.
Sandra and Nicola had the opportunity to meet the First Minister herself to engage and tell her more about DSL and the Scottish Microfinance Fund, and the Scottish businesses we’ve helped across a variety of sectors and industries.
To date, the fund has lent over £1.4 million to new and growing businesses in Scotland, and with a total of £6 million funding available to entrepreneurs across the country we still have an even greater, positive impact to make on developing SMEs and the start-up scene in Scotland.
